It's that time of the year again kids... that time when the walls are stripped of the colorful (and mostly random) articles that have hung there all year... the time of the year when we looked forward to the next... knowing that nothing will be the same, but that everything will be wonderful anyway... the time of the year when we realize that maybe we haven't come quite as far as we may have like too, but realize that we've still come a long way.... a time of the year this is quite bitter sweet... sweet as we look forward to spending a few short months doing things that we are passionate about, things that only God could have put in our paths.... yet quite bitter as we realize that none of these things will truly involve the people that we have spent that last year of our lives with.. the people who we deeply love and care about. (Don't worry the sappy won't last forever) It is simply that time of the year when we are practically forced in every way to reflect on the past year and look forward to the next... lets face it ANYTHING to avoid studying and once our parents have come and removed all things necessary for distraction we must think... think of the good and the bad, But in the end we know that God has plans for all of us... plans that we can't even imagine... plans that pray will be what we want knowing that what we want is ridiculous and that God loves to throw kinks in everything, but isn't that what makes God so great? Even though everything in our lives seems horribly and drastically different from what we might have imagined it is still someone the best possible situation! WOW! What an awesome realization to come to (on a "short" study break).
I think the words written my Jeremiah, (words which we are all familiar with and may even seem corny to place here but good all the same) to the exiles in Babylon can be an encouragement to all as we look forward to what God has in store for us... "'For I know the plans I have for you' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with ALL your heart, I will be found in you', declares the Lord,..." Jeremiah 29:11-14
Ahhh! Back to the books... (once again only because I've told my mother to read this. :-D)
