IT has been quite the interesting weekend at my house... Friday started with a trip to the doctor, which wasn't too terribly bad, after the assurance that there would be no shots and no head cutting open. Where she comes up with this stuff is beyond me. But, she was fine just a little virus. When we got home from the doctor Joe told me he was brining Ben home because he was sick (I beginning to think this virus is as real as tornadoes). Well later everyone else came home and thats always fun Grumpy grumpy grumpy... well my happy gun ran out of ammo and so I had to think of something. WATER BALLOONS! Yeah, I went and bought a whole bunch and than tricked my family into coming outside, than I water ballooned them. To which they responded "DID YOU REALLY DO THAT?" and so I just told them, "Yeah, I'll do it again too..." hopefully the grumpy bug will be kept away for a while. OH it was good times. Well GN is back in school this week and Ben is home. Ben is MUCH "sicker" than GN was. Yeah, he's driving me crazy and he's only been home for one day.
Saturday we got up early and went to breakfast, came home and had to clean the house... which really wasn't to bad, but we still had to do it. Than for some reason we decided to grocery shop in the middle of a Saturday, Grocery shopping for nine people in the middle of the day is always a bad choice, and to that taking the whole family with you, plus two of my brothers friends shopping for a camping trip, and strange things are bound to happen. Well, there was some yelling mostly about spaghetti sauce, and of course toilet paper... you can't shop without shouting about toilet paper. We ended up with a lot of things we probably don't need, and everyone was a little more stressed out when we left than when we arrived, but hey it happens. I wish that I had a more exciting to story to tell about Saturday... especially a Saturday night, but if you keep up with facebook you'll see that I spent about an hour filling out a survey... it was quite sad.
Sunday... Sunday is my favorite day of the week. It's just good, you get to go to church and see your friends and other people that you like and other people too! Plus its church and we all know that church is just a good idea. Next there is a lunch that you don't have to cook or clean up after or anything you just get it... and after all of that its nap time! Think about it, you haven't really done a whole lot all day and you still get to take nap! GOOD TIMES! Sunday night I went to the youth service which was great. I just really love those guys, they're good times.
I realized this weekend, the summer is for real, everyone really is going everywhere and communication will be limited. I'm mostly terrified of what that means, and although we've been preparing for big things and big stretching and being willing to learn what God has for us, but I think the waiting is not so good... I miss late night talks, and hashing things out and just having friends close all the time. I miss my friends, I miss my room, I miss my babies at work, I've been spending way to much time by myself...
I told several people the water balloon story yesterday and then said matter of factly, "and that is why aly is my best friend and will be a great mom some day." just thought you should know. also, i miss our babies at work too. its sad. but most of all, as ready as i was to get out of the dorm, i just miss living with my two favorite girls on earth (plus two more live-ins named liz and margaret)
ReplyDeleteI miss everyone, too... In fact, I just cried about it. :-(
